Here’s a couple of pictures of Tuffy from the Nationals in Minnesota last Fall.
I’d like to say Deb did this on her own, but she didn’t. So her alter-ego blogmeister is taking over… All together now: Debbie - you can do it by yourself.

No way are you getting past me.

Head ‘em up - move ‘em out!
I’m thinking Tuffy’s name should be changed from Tuffernhell to Tuffy’s Doc Bar…. well, I guess you have to know Quarter Horse bloodlines to ‘get’ that one….. Carol - Your Guest Editor.

Woohooo! We had a really fun weekend. We were able to park the trailer next to the river and had trees all around. A really nice place to camp out. On Saturday we were able to entertain more ACD people in our shade and our cookout was a lot of fun. What happens with the girlfriends-stays with the girlfriends!
Saturday’s results were:Marshall & Dawn-2nd leg on their Rally Novice Obedience title with a score of 87. Penner received a Reserve Winners Dog.
Sunday’s results were: Marshall & Dawn -3rd leg on their Rally Novice Obed title with a score of 91 which was a tie for 2nd place and also their RN title! Penner received Winners Dog and Best of Winners for 2 more points. And brother Taz received Reserve Winners dog with his owner Crystal showing him. Leeloo won Reserve Winners Bitch with Missie showing her.
Marshall is now walking around with an additional title, wich is very cool. He is now CH Taylryder Trouble In Town PT, RN, CGC. Dawn is now walking around with the knowledge that she did it all! Yeaaaaay! See Marshal knew what gift to get her for her Birthday!!!!

We will be leaving for a dog show this evening. There are a few of us that will be going to Zolfo Springs and a chance to enjoy this great Florida weather! The show site is a State Park on the Peace River and it is quite beautiful. Wish us luck! I will report back in after we return on Sunday evening.

This time of year, this weather is beautiful and as a result the windows were open last night. This was a “good thing” as we found out at 2:38 am.
Brian was home, which most of you know, never happens when something goes wrong/needs fixing/or is a major event. We both were awaken by Goober-9 mo old-silly putty-red puppy dog-Penner, as he sounded the alarm! You know instantly it is him with that high pitch puppy screach that he calls his “bad-to-da-bone-bark”. He barked a couple of times in that panicked screach. Then we heard the reason why. The coyote calls….yip-yip-yip! follwed by the rest of the pack’s responses. Wow, we knew they very close. Brian jumped up, put on his jeans and grabbed the pistol as he headed out the front door.
As the sleep left our brains, we realized that the neighbors’ dogs on both sides of us had also started barking. The Revel’s cowherd were moving around and calling for each other and their calves. Our cows were silent.
So by now, Brian had slipped into the barn yard , where the “boy band” sheep came running to him, immediately! Brian was able to push past them and head to the hay barn and the A course. He came around the building and shined the flash light into the A course pen. He caught eyes on the other side of the fence at the “Z” chute. This is only 20-25 feet away from where he stood. The “eyes” moved just a few more feet off and stood there looking at Brian, not moving any further. There was a light fog and Brian was unsure as to where our cows actually were located in the pasture, as they were still silent. Also he did not have the shot-gun with buck shot….so as a 2nd option, he shot the pistol in the air for several rounds. The neighborhood (and our house)exploded with all of the dogs joining in! And then just silence. No more cows mooing, no more dogs barking and no more eyes in the foggy mist. They had scattered! I believe it was safe to say that the coyotes really did not expect that kind of party last night. The “mutton’s now on the menu” was interupted, all with the help of the Goober Boy Penner!
I am still surprised with the nerve of that pack. I will be setting the alarm tonight and making the rounds with Tuffy and now the Goober Boy too as back-up…just to let the coyotes know that they REALLY are not welcome!
Hmmmm….. maybe this should the subject for the next “Tegan’s Tails”!

Ok, so this was said to me last night about my lack of a recent blog entry. Yes, I started the new job on Monday and I train everyday for the next 3 weeks. My new job as Asst Librarian is going to be a lot of fun, if the last 2 days are any indication! Such a nice, friendly, little library… “where the people know your name”. There are 3 of us training right now and as new employees, we seem to have a lot in common. We are being encouraged to develope a library program that we may be able to get more participation by the community. I have a couple of ideas in mind and I see a need to start searching for some sci-fi books…. maybe for a sci-fi book club??? As I develope this, I may be asking for help in finding some used/new copies of specific books. :o)
The only down side to this “new job thingy” is that the dogs are not as happy about me leaving every day, specifically TR. He is having a real hard time with me driving off and he is not in the passenger seat. I think a few more cookies to get me out the gate is in order to help allieviate some of this guilt!

I wonder how old was the oldest cow. Hmmm…maybe I should check with the Guiness book on that.
Our oldest bovine resident passed on to the rainbow bridge last night. Buffy made it to the grand old age of 20+ years. She had a rough beginning but being fed on a bottle she became our pet and kept the herd in order long after she was through with having calves.

Enjoy the green fields….Buffy. I will surely miss your morning breakfast calls.

Thanks to my blog site guru, there are now some pictures. Granted these are “older” pictures, hehehe, but I will get her some newer ones to update, and at the very least- Tuffy’s pic!
The last pup from our most recent litter will be on his way to his new home in Canada in the morning. There will be a “New Sherriff” across the border very soon.
